What are your first thoughts upon waking?

Is it Saturday today?
Then a groan when it's not, lol.
Why do you blog?
Submitted by littleduckling.
It all started because I was bored one summer. I did not have cable TV but I had a Gateway computer, dial up Internet service, my own phone line and a lot of things to say about life in general especially things I experienced in my day to day life as a 20 something.
Even though I took a small break (a few years actually), I decided to dip my toes in slowly because I missed it. I enjoy blogging because of the outlet it gives me. I stay connected to a lot of people with one hit of the publish/post button and I have connected with a lot of people I would have not met without this little "hobby" of blogging.
Besides if I didn't get to do the venting that blogging allows me --- I would probably make the news for something that would be suited for Reuters Oddly Enough feature involving office supplies, screaming obscenities in Spanish and Greek, a mariachi band and the subway for all the days it made me late for work --- just kidding....well sort of.
What are some of the best(and worst) things about summer?
Submitted by L33tchica.
The best...
- Extended sunshine
- Running through the sprinklers
- Days on the boardwalk at Long Beach & night time dining outdoors
- BBQs and days in the pool
- Long drives (well when gas was reasonable)
- Not feeling like a slave to work because I get to leave while there is still sunshine
- No more layers
- Rainbows after warm rain showers
- Coldstone Creamery
- Yankee games
- Getting to run out the door with freshly washed hair
- Showing off the pedicured feet in the season's cutest sandals
The worst...
- Getting too much of an eye full of people of various sizes and shapes, squeezing into attire that is simply not meant for them because it is not flattering
- Days with too much humidity
- Getting on a packed train with no air conditioning because someone is bound is smell funky (and the skin to skin contact - yuck!)
- Having to stay all day on Fridays knowing that other companies have 1/2 days (we get to leave 15 minutes early, whipee)
- It's not long enough
If you had to write your autobiography in 6 words, what would you write?

Seriously, it could only happen to me.
What are your travel plans for this spring/summer?
So far I don't have anything planned but I do want to take my son to Sesame Place, Great Adventures and any other place a kid his age should enjoy. I also want to do a birthday trip (but that's October) to Puerto Rico or somewhere else in the Carribean (as long as it's family friendly for he and I to enjoy).
What's the biggest mistake you've ever made at a job?
Becoming friends with the wrong people... oh the headache that causes until you get a new job or they leave.
What is your favorite movie that was released in the 1980s?
Are you kidding? You can't just narrow it down to ONE movie!!!!! so I will list my favorites in no particular order (and as many as I can remember).
- Purple Rain (and if you are laughing it's cause you don't get Prince is for the ~grown & sexy~)
- Private Benjamin (I love Goldie!)
- 9 to 5
- Reds (okay I watched this in the 90s but it was made in the 80s)
- E.T.
- Toostie
- An Officer & A Gentleman
- Flashdance
- Trading Places
- Mr. Mom
- Gremlins
- Ghostbusters
- The Karate Kid
- The Goonies
- Splash!!!!
- Footloose
- Back to the Future
- Ferris Bueller's Day Off
- The Breakfast Club
- Sixteen Candles
- The Color of Money
- Ruthless People
- Top Gun (oh back before we knew Tom, was well... Tom)
- Fatal Attraction
- Moonstruck (snap out of it!)
- Wall Street

- Biloxi Blues
- Major League

- Nightmare on Elm Street
- Friday the 13th (just I & II for me)
I'm probably forgetting a whole bunch of favorites but the 80s were good for entertainment... so good the 2000s can't stop ripping off remaking things (like the A-Team)
What one common food item do you refuse to eat?
ONIONS! Not even for a million dollars could you get me to eat them. The smell, taste and texture make me feel instantly sick.
What was the #1 song on the radio when you were born?
Technically it was Wild Cherry's "Play That Funky Music" which everyone knows but three days into my life another song took over the charts. "A Fifth of Beethoven" by Walter Murphy & His Big Apple Band which was known (or should I say still known) as "classical disco" two words that somehow seem like they don't belong together but leave it to 1976 to make that combination happen.
